Just been reading up on Foel, that village hasnt done bad for famous people either ....keith allen.... ...brian trubshaw first concorde pilot..huw edwards..fatcat ironmonger alexander raby..rugby stars ...roy mathias...stu gallacher...brian butler..elvet jones..harry watkins..colin stephens..dai nicholas...and the one and only phil bennett on top of the hill England cricketers jeff jones and son simon around the corner in dafen...Theres also the Davies brothers who invented the 1st ever spare tyres for london cabs, Dai greene commonwealth champion, famous painter james innes, mrs evans who invented the jack daniels recipe, singer dorothy squires, snooker champ Terry griff, also most importantly the john family that gave us the first ever tinned beer in europe courtesy of foel ales, then buckleys soon followed movie star rachel roberts born round the corner in penyfan church... Oh and scarlets number one fan, lewis lewi jones

Everyone's got their definition of folk hero, but Phil May and Laurence Delaney would be in my XV anyway - both had over 500 appearances for Llanelli in 3 different decades. I'd swear Phil May played until he was 60.

Ieuan is our greatest ever winger imo the only reason I didnt pick him is because I figured this was a team of folk hero mavericks, the carmarthen cowboy always seemed very straight laced to me, compared to the larger than life personas of grav, jim scarlet , perego and co lol
