Mentioned this before, but I prefer a really good scotch egg. There's a firm up in mid Wales who make these awesome ones with all different fillings. Can't beat one with with a pint of bitter imo.
Love to see them down at Y Parc.

I remember it well, the pie was sitting nice and warm in the chippy, definitely not fried, so i thought i could get a bit of pie action with my chips. Then the damn chippy bloke picked it up, and threw it in the fryer!! I am going to maybe research the effect of the fried pie on mopping up excess alcohol!

A cheeky word up for the Cornish Pasties at Y Parc. Cracking! and they have an advantage over the pie in that they can be eaten with pint in one hand and Pastie int other.
The pies look lovely, but it seems such a battle to eat the thing, and wastes valuable drinking time!

It took me several attempts to establish the best method of eating a Parc y Scarlets pie. Several attempts ended in tears.
I now let Mrs Chips wait in the concourse until 5 mins before half time then buy it and bring it to me in S3. She then cuts it up and feeds me with it whilst I drink my beer intermittently to munch the pie down.
At least that's what I think happens...it could be a dream.

From January's Telegraph, bloody marvellous mun:
Scotch egg to make a comeback
The Scotch egg, often eaten as part of soggy British picnic, is to make a triumphant comeback in 2011, according to a food magazine.

The egg, hard boiled and surrounded by sausage meat and then rolled in bread crumbs, will be spotted in pubs, restaurants and shops around the country, predicts Olive magazine.
It has listed the foods, tastes and trends that are likely to be popular this year. They include liquorice, gin, plain filtered coffee rather than milky cappuccinos, restaurants that "have no airs and graces", bacon-flavoured vodka and, fior di latte, ice cream made from milk without any flavourings and considered the most sublime and purest form of the Italian treat.
Scotch eggs make the list, after appearing on an increasing number of restaurant menus. "The Scotch egg is the ultimate comeback snack," the magazine says. "Look for it in increasingly radical forms."
The Michelin Pub of the Year for 2011, The Hinds Head in Bray, which is owned by Heston Blumenthal serves Scotch quail eggs, while The Royal Oak, in Maidenhead, owned by the television personality Michael Parkinson and his son, also serve Scotch eggs.
One of the pioneers of the renaissance for the traditional British snack is Ben Holden, whose company The Manchester Egg, makes a snack made out of a pickled egg, surrounded in black pudding and covered in breadcrumbs. "That pickled flavour dimension is that extra level that the scotch egg has always missed", he said.

I believe they are acceptable when in the south of France the morning after the match (not the morning of the match though).
Scotch eggs are only acceptable when you take one out of guilt at a buffet because leaving a whole bowl of them is unfair on the ingredients.
