I'm not a fan of Ian Wright, bit of a nob if you ask me, but I agree with his comments here.

Society has moved on, and the 'toe the line' commentary, analysis and even player interviews are frankly a bore. I can tell you pretty much what a player is going to say in the post match interview,"it wasnt all me, credit to the boys, team effort, they made it really hard for us, blah blah blah"

I've not got sky, but I watched ManUre Asrenhole about 5 years ago with celebrity fanzone, it was Bradley Walsh and Alan Davies commentating, it was immense, the banter and laughs fantastic, I really thought it would catch-on and become the norm for commentary, however not yet.

A mix of both is the way to go, you are not going to get people like Bradley Walsh doing the Champions League on the main coverage, but a mix of old and new and some of the cuff commentators would do the trick.

It isnt going to change much in the near future though, the broadcasters are not going to make any major changes.

Agree. With digital tv capability, would be nice to have a choice.
