Likewise. The adverts have returned, it seems, and those thorny folk Fisher Investments are showing on mine. First time they’ve been between posts. Normally, they’ve just been at the top of the page. Quite fitting really, as I’ve recently watched a canal programme where much use was made of barge poles.

I watched us hammer Saints when I was kid. Any historians got scoreline for similar clashes before this game? Otherwise I unwittingly witnessed his last game. But I think it was a different game. Something like 45-10.

I remember it well. The days most of the english teams used to come down for us to have a training session.

Sorry for the angst I caused with the title.
Yes, it was a 31-0 win, and he scored with the last, or perhaps virtually the last, move of the game following a double scissors at the Town End.

my first trip to Franklin gardens was on a supporters bus for the 4th Dec 1976 game ... pre motor way and I think took about 7 hours to get there (memory !!!) . The smell from the Carlsberg brewery ? stays with me from that trip was worse than Buckleys on a bad day at Gelli Onn
Think we lost 13-10 but had a good team out including Benny as captain ... the travel alone must have been tough |

I was there ...one Tuesday when the All Blacks came (and lost)
