Hearing a WRU Championship team have just been deducted 8 points for 'paying players'.
Should cause a few ripples. |

We were told at a club meeting that a few clubs were under investigation.

In Wales, I understand that the WRU only allow player payments to those playing for clubs with an A licence ie the 12 Prem clubs and currently Swansea, Pontypool, RGC and Merthyr in the Championship. All other clubs are supposed to comply with the WRU statement of truth...

The lower league clubs get a payment from the WRU each season...not sure think 6k if memory serves..in return for signing up to not paying players.
Think you can also say you are going to play players, but then the club has to pay the WRU some dosh...again not sure but think it's 12k. |
