Great to see this news about Shingler junior. Seems to have settled in a pretty good club with some spending power as well.

Congratulations to Steven on being named Ealing Trailfinders Captain.
They could be in the Gallagher Premiership pretty soon given the plight of Worcester and Wasps.

It’d be somewhat of a shock if either of those clubs went under. Usually, some form of compromise is unearthed from somewhere. After the RFU/Premiership’s goalpost-moving promotion criteria denied them promotion the traditional way, it’d be hard to see them relenting. Maybe if both Ws went under, they’d need a 12th team to fulfil the TV rights contract………

They both need to find new owners. Worcester were taken over by some non-rugby people who didn’t have much money in 2018. What those owners have done sounds very dodgy, and some have suggested that their reason for taking over the club was so they could sell the land/stadium when the rugby club goes bust.

Wasps’ takeover of the Coventry stadium and casino complex hasn’t worked out as they’d hoped. They were in a very difficult financial position a decade ago when they decided to take that risk. The walls seem to be closing in now though.

There’s a good chance they’ll both have to do what London Welsh did and start at the very bottom of the English league structure.

Thanks. That would be quite a story.
