Geraint is in pole position to win now. Best of luck to Geraint. His Carmarthenshire roots are doing him proud.

Wonderful achievement from Geraint. He seems to have seen off Froome in yesterday's stage. Fingers crossed.

Froome looked spent yesterday. I thought Geraint would look to just keep pace with 2 attackers but fair play to him. Hopefully Froome will now help Geraint.

Well done to G for another podium finish. I remain in serious awe about the powers of fitness & endurance achieved by these sportsmen. I have watched over the past 3 weeks as the tour unfolded and it is frankly amazing what they put their bodies through day after day.

Captivating stuff and probably the best contest for very many years. Day to day unpredictability, relentless attacking. New names to the fore. While G does his thing and beats, by at least 5 mins, all the rest bar the two young stars Vingegaard at 25(?) and Pogacar (23).
Tom Pidcock was 2nd in the young rider contest but the final table shown live didn’t have him on there at all. Whoever was posting the classifications on screen might’ve been at the champagne a bit too soon. It wasn’t their only error.

Not into cycling but this is as tough an endurance event as any hats off to him for finishing let alone making the podium
