I’d suggest PCL...this of course from a guy who could only describe his various knee issues as ‘ a bit stiff when I put weight on it’.
Anyway he will be home soon, scan and lets see from there. |

I will be glad to see the back of Gatland and his cronies. They have no regard for the Regions and player welfare. If someone gets injured in a full on test match then I can accept that, but when we lose them in a money making Mickey Mouse game, then it really p....es me off !!! The token 'resting' of some players is a joke. If he wanted to know about the depth of his squad, then take a development group full of fringe and young players with no pressure on them. What he has is a mixture, and a group with no clear idea of the gamelan, if there was one in the first place. That was a dreadful performance and made a mockery of the jersey. Anscombe will never be a 10 as long a I shall live, however what's the odds of him playing there again next week. I pray that the rest of the Scarlets come through injury free and they can have a decent break as they really need it ahead of what will be another long season. Remember we will progress into the knock out stages in the CC again, and will no doubt be at the business end of the league so will have a lot more high pressure games to play than the other Regions will, as they don't have the tools to progress tbh. We have already lost a few guys for the start of the campaign, so no more please. |

Realistically Steff was the incumbent for a wing jersey and barring injury would probably be a starter come the World Cup. So why put him up against a very physical team, less than a week after a final against the best team in Europe, with a long flight between?
If you want to build depth why not take or play Hewitt, Lane (though he is injured now), Rosser, Summerhill or Dan Evans?

To be fair Hewitt would have started but pulled out a few days ago.

Fair enough. As an aside I like Hewitt but he's rapidly becoming the next Eli Walker. His well documented struggle with concussion is a worry too. Hope he gets a good run soon.

What kind of international would be acceptable for injuries to occur?

One inside the agreed window for starters. Why pick any Scarlets for the SA game as the other players have not played in a while.

Because there weren't enough non-Scarlets players to make a team? The timing of this game was poor - maybe the WRU didn't expect a Welsh team to reach the pro-14 final? It was bad that any Scarlets players had to be involved, but inevitable given the date. If the English had released Adams, he'd have been in the team, not Steff. After all, his team weren't involved in any games after May 5th! But because it was outside the window, the PRL guys wouldn't budge.

Spoke to a player yesterday. He hadn’t heard anything, said he was going to phone Steff last night. He did think however that it was rear knee relatated and it was not going to be good news. The only question remains is how bad is bad news going to be. The player I spoke to guessed it would be at least a few months.

Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

just hope it is only a couple of months sandman. ligament injuries are worse than broken bones. science has come on so much but its still hard hard injury to recover from if surgery is required

Let's just remember that Foxy has done his ACL (once as an 18ish year old) in twice and come back (we wait on this current injury), Samson Lee has also done an Achillies and an ACL (when he was about 17). So there's a good chance steff will come back okay, players these days can overcome all manner of injury.
Though I think he shouldn't have played, tired players get injured far more often than fresh ones.

Let's just see it as a blessing in disguise (with Samson as well, if doubtful for the Argentina matches), as it means if they're not playing for Wales, then they're having the well deserved rest that they need and they'll be available for us sooner rather than later

Cant see it being ACL as it was a hyperextension. As previously mentioned PCL (posterior) more likely. Still not good
