If I was an RGC player and was refused a permit to play for any Region I would be pretty upset about it

Supporters are entitled to know in the open world espoused by Martyn Philips and likewise re the Dragons and what they are doing there. It brings the Welsh rugby scene into disrepute with this lack of clarity

Thought they already were a feeder for all regions hence Rhun Williams joining Blues.

RGC is ultimately destined to be a region in its own right, I guess, and that might one day involve them entering Regional A side competitions like the AW cup. I don't know whether, for example, they benefit (or contribute) to the Scarlets academy today. To the extent that the WRU is funding them differently and more generously that other semi-pro sides, perhaps they need to be seen as a potential feeder for all regions.

Actions such as this will no doubt speed up the restructuring of the level below the regions. RGC's attitude is very short term and could well come back to haunt them. A British & Irish A league would solve a few issues.

RGC don't need to alienate the regions, regardless of what they think of the mandate they have.
Everyone below regional level is a feeder club. Simple as. |

It is a question to ask so we at least know the position as locally Permitting is pretty compulsory /routine practice. Perhaps it's more dotted line in terms of RGC being part of any Regional feeder network which does as you say, if correct, disenfranchise their players from an opportunity to play up.

The players themselves from R.G.C can't have been very happy . This shouldn't be forgotten about this needs to be addressed as it's s scenario that will arise again.

Wouldn't surprise me, his comments when he left us were pure sour grapes.

Interesting comments in our local rag about the drovers away game to neath last weekend, they lost 8 first team players to the scarlets for their game at Newport, quins also lost a few but RGC refused to release any of their players, very unfair situation both on the players with hopes of higher things and on the drovers who lost the game surely if the request comes in you must comply or is it because the union run RGC has preference.
