Totally crazy money

MANCHESTER City have offered Zlatan Ibrahimovic a four-year deal worth a staggering £96MILLION - or roughly £500,000 a week.

He's not even that good. Barca should definitely get rid of him and buy a better striker.

We are Con Air. You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.

They should have walked it last season with the talent at their disposal, I know Spurs spent a few quid but at least 'Arry knew how to utilise it. I haven't really got a problem with big money coming into the game, but the "fit and proper person" test that the FA set potential buyers should be tightened up, with a ceiling put on how much money can be thrown into a club. At this rate the unofficial "2nd division" in the Premier league might as well be made official, and just leave the big money clubs fight out the top 5 or 6 places themselves.

Teams like Everton etc (and my lot in their season in-season out stints) who try and run to a strict budget will just get left further behind with little hope of success outside a decent cup run. The bubble has to burst at some point, and clubs will go down the pan.

Anyway, back to topic! Zlatan must be pinching himself, as no player on the planet is worth that money, apart from possibly Dorrans or BednarWink

I can only assume there are tax benefits for benefacting money to a club, I fail to see how people plough vast amounts in for the love of a club in football (exceptions-Jack Walker/Dave Whelan and wotsisname in Wolves years ago) knowing there'll be a financial loss. The same goes for rugby, cruddy can't be happy chucking money in with no hope of getting it back, and whoever buys Huw Evans out won't get the money back either?
We were once self proclaiming ourselves to be rugby's Liverpool/Man utd etc, probably closer in spirit to Blackburn Rovers, big money went in now there has to be self reliance.

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

And he is not worth it, L'Oreal wouldn't touch him, now the new add with Cheryl and that lovely pouting sticking lipstick does it for me,Big smile
