Well, what can you say about British sport in 2012?

Welsh Grand Slam
Brad Wiggins
Olympics (most successful ever)
Paralympics (most medals ever)
Andy Murray
Rory McIlroy
Recent Mclaren, Button and Hamilton success

Is there anything more to come this year? It's been a blast.

Be nice to add the Ryder Cup and England retaining their T20 World Cup to that list!

Yes it has and the Scarlets to lift the HC in 2013, it gets better mate.

In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

In a different light, I believe we should include Liverpool and the Hillsborough Justice Campaign's success today in the list

Ryder cup, hopefully.
It's not always about where you end up, it's about how you get there.

Ah, but the Ryder Cup is Europe not Britain (pedantry rules!).

The Olympics opening ceremony was July 27th although the games commenced on July 25th.

Since the start of the Olympics, only British drivers have won F1 races.

I also forgot Dario Franchitti's Indy 500 win on my list.

When I first read this, I thought - oh, come on.......but my goodness, after seeing the news and reading the paper, you can't help but get angry whilst also saluting the quiet dignity of the bereaved families.

This has lifted a huge cloud over these families and I hope they can now grieve properly and move on.

Let's hope that justice follows.

I'm no fan, but Chelsea won the Champions League and the Premier League had one of it's most memorable final days, so i'd include City too.
