Team for tonight’s game

The Indigo Group Premiership continues for Llanelli tomorrow night, Friday 4th February, with a trip to Ebbw Vale.

Last weekend’s first victory of the season will have boosted confidence in the squad, with Paul Fisher’s men now hoping to build momentum going forward.

In an entertaining game, against Bridgend Ravens at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday, Llanelli remained in control for the most part of the game, weathering a second half comeback from the visitors.

Tries from Sam O’Connor, Nathan Hart (2) and Rhodri Jones secured a bonus point victory for Llanelli.

Number 8 Nathan Hart, who himself scored a brace of tries in last weekend’s win, captains the side. A new-look front row sees Scarlets’ Kemsley Mathias line up alongside Lewis Morgan and Harri O’Connor.

Jac Price comes in to the second row to partner Chris Long with Ryan Jenkins returning to the starting line-up in the backrow alongside Ellis Thomas and captain Hart.

Archie Hughes and Iwan Evans return as the halfback partnership. Jonathan Lewis and Josh Davies line up in midfield with Amir Jiwa Walji moving to the wing alongside Callum Williams and fullback Rhodri Jones.

Llanelli team to face Ebbw Vale at Ciner Glass Community Stadium, Friday 4th February, kick-off 7.30pm;

15 Rhodri Jones, 14 Amir Jiwa Walji, 13 Josh Davies, 12 Jonathan Lewis, 11 Callum Williams, 10 Iwan Evans, 9 Archie Hughes, 1 Kemsley Mathias, 2 Lewis Morgan, 3 Harri O’Connor, 4 Jac Price, 5 Chris Long, 6 Ryan Jenkins, 7 Ellis Thomas, 8 Nathan Hart (c)

Replacements; 16 Llew Phillips-Taylor, 17 Sam O’Connor, 18 Rhys Davies, 19 Ashleigh Hyndman, 20 Jack Soloman, 21 Jay Weaver, 22 Joseph Hutchings, 23 Harrison Button

Nice to see Llanelli get a fairer share of the fringe players in the Scarlets squad, who also get some more game time. Possibility of both O'Connor brothers playing together in the front row and with Jac Price behind them we should see Archie getting better ball to work with.
