I'd go with:

15 Byrne
14 North
13 Foxy
12 Roberts
11 Halfpenny
10 Priestland
9   Phillips
8   Faletau
7   Tipuric
6   Shingler
5   Evans
4   R Jones
3   A Jones
2   Bennett
1   Gill

Bench:

16 Owens
17 James
18 Reed
19 Powell
20 Ll Williams
21 Hook
22 S Williams

Give 1/2p the kicking duties - will make Rhys play with less pressure on him and he'll flourish IMO.

Byrne to 15 as I feel he's played well this season for ASM.

Tipuric at 7 as I feel that Warburton will not recover in time with his dead leg

Shingler at 6 - provides an added lineout option to us. Plus it will give Wales a very quick back row - he and Tipuric have played for Wales 7's I believe.

Ryan at lock as I imagine that Bradley will miss the rest of the tournament after his over-eagerness to move Ryan out of the ruck on Sunday!!

Bennett must be given another shot at 2 - he can't do much worse in the lineout than he did on Sunday, plus he'll be throwing to 3 of his Ospreys team mates!!

I understand Lydiate will be fit so i imagine he'll come into No 6 with Ryan Jones in the second row. If Warburton is not fit then I'd gowith Tipuric. He did well when he came on yesterday.

Has he trained much lately??

Only, and I mean ONLY if he's 100% fit I'd play him - far more challenging and important games to come later on. I feel Shingler could cope with Scotland. Plus he'd be an extra jumper in the lineouts. Give him 10-15 minutes at the end IMO.

To paraphrase wrestling parlance...Its vital we go to twickers fully loaded...we have only stormed that fortress once in 24 years..Confused we seriously owe them a beatdown. I'd like to think Geth, Lydiate, Rees, alun wyn and warbs will all be in contention for that royal rumble..On our day we have a quality pack, IF it ever gets allied to a monstrous backline, we could taste some English blood.

Seriously, you both would go with Byrne? Halfpenny will decimate Scotland from full back, Byrne has showed very little for over a year now.

Scarletnut - I almost agree with your side but I don't see Tipuric as a 6 at all. If you play both Warburton and Tipuric then we are looking too lightweight in the back row. As a result, I'd probably give Shingler the chance if Lydiate isn't fit for the blindside berth.

Sorry that's a mistake by me. I meant to put Lydiate at 6 and Tipuric at 7 if Warburton is out.

Byrne, Nooooo son, no-no-nnnnnope.

If he was in the frame he's have been there this week.

Cuthbert will keep his place (he took a knock) if fit, so the backs will remain as the starting XV v Ireland in my view.

Brad inevitably out so Ryan to 2nd row, Lou in on the bench for Powell...all presuming Lydiate and Warby fit.

Warburton and tupiric could do a great job at the breakdown against the scots if lydiate is out, the worry is that gatland moves Toby f to 6 and Powell to 8 as apposed to picking Shingler.

Byrne to be fair has looked very good in Europe this year but halfpenny has to play as his kicking is top notch.
what is point?

I agree about the backs, so long as Cuthbert has recovered from whatever bang he took. Would not want to risk Byrne, personally - I thought Hook did quite well at 15, so if necessary I'd start him there with 1/2p on the wing if Cuthbert is out.

As for the forwards - I have to say I was surprised by how well Ryan Jones played - he looked back to near his best after looking past  it. IF Warburton is out, I'd start Reed in the second row with Tipuric at 7 and keep Jones at 6 for his carrying. I'd avoid a lightweight back row of Tipuric, Faletau and Shingler, though.

If Warburton is OK, maybe then it would be OK to move Jones to the second row, Warby to 6 and Tipuric at 7 with either Lydiate or Shingler on the bench.
I share no-one's ideas. I have my own.

Has Byrne been playing well in France? A question I'd put to Vulcan, unless people have seen every game he's played in so far?

I wil NOT be buying drinks for everyone tomorrow. ONLY Geordie Scarlet. My original statement was taken out of context.
