WALES star Ryan Jones has been voted the top performing British Lions player during the recent tour of New Zealand,

The survey, carried out by Penderyn - the Welsh single malt whisky - polled more than 3,500 rugby fans, players and coaches throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

The Penderyn Poll: 1 Ryan Jones (Wales); 2 Dwayne Peel (Wales); 3 Josh Lewsey (England); 4 Paul O Connell (Ireland); 5 Mark Cueto (England); 6 Gethin Jenkins (Wales); 7 Martyn Williams (Wales); 8 Lewis Moody (England); 9 Simon Easterby (Ireland); 10 Tom Shanklin (Wales).

agree with the first 3 but the choices after that are very odd !!. i thought o'connell was poor, cueto, williams and shanklin didn't play enough rugby and i would have put easters and geth higher.
