Just read that Steffan Evans was released for Glasgow, would surely have put him on bench, could have made a big impact ...

Odd, indeed. I suppose that the coaches have been training with the selected team for a few days, and didn't want to disrupt it - still!

You need speed on the replacements bench,Steff would have given us that,no pace or impact with our back replacements

If North pulls up, we have the speedster Dr Bob on the wing against England's speedy backs..

If North fails a fitness test before Saturday, Wales could put him straight into the starting XV.

I'd rather have Roberts on the wing than Cuthbert. I think it's very unfair putting Cuthbert in this situation. I actually feel sorry for him.

I understand Pivac and the coaches not having Steff on the bench to avoid disruption, but where's the sense in Wales releasing him? He's neither in nor out. This happened to Scott a few years back. Players who are released should either play for their clubs or still be in the international set up for continuity of training and a possible late call up.
Only one team plays in red. (Sorry, Scarlet)

If Steff was genuinely released along with Aled then he would/should have been in the team instead of Tom Williams. Thats if he was released. Howley on record as saying George & Dan are being given until Saturday to prove their fitness so expect changes. Owen Williams despite being released back to the Tigers is prepared to return if Dan can't play. Mauger apparently understands the situation. I would not be at all surprised if Wales were keeping England guessing especially with Dan/Sam.

I had that thought as well - in which case, I do hope the 'released' players covering injured players have not travelled back to their clubs. It would be v poor preparation if they had to suddenly drive back to Cardiff!

Apparently Owen Williams is back in Leicester awaiting an early morning call from Cardiff. Cover for George is different as they will in Llantrisant.

My take on it too.

I personally can't see either Dan or George playing Saturday.

Just how 'released' was Steff BTW??
