the always objective  phillip matthews didnt think so
neither did jerry gussett

To my eyes it was black and white stone wall penalty and yellow card

(they then tried to smudge the issue by talking about brad davies which was worse, of course it was and brad deserved red and will now be banned, but thats irrelevant , ferris got what he deserved imho)

agree? disagree?

Agree and disagree!  Penalty, just, no card.  He came down to the ground with the tackled player and didn't drop him, just a bit clumsy.

Its all this letter of the law stuff now . I wouldn't have penalised it and a season or 2 ago it probably wouldn't have been penalised .

Penalty, but no card.
The stadium may change, but the dream will remain the same!

I don't even think it should have been a penalty, but under the letter of the law it is a penalty and a card.

Bowe should have been carded early on for an intentional knock on, I'm sure the Irish will be happy to gloss over that though.

Penalty and yellow card. Unfortunate for Ferris but there you go.
Brad was crazy though. Retaliation for the sly shoulder into the maul. Should have waited for a better opportunity to dish out retribution. Clown!

Good points - and I agree.

At first sight, I thought the card for Ferris was harsh. Having seen it again several times, it's clear he held on to Evans's legs and tried to drive him into the ground as hard as he could. Evans didn't get hurt because he was so tall, and able to twist and get his arms on the ground before his head - no thanks to ferris, though.
I share no-one's ideas. I have my own.

and in the letter of the law, that means a yellow regardless of intent! we were only debating this a couple of months ago, and now we're going back on what we debated should have been LOL ConfusedLOL
Remember Stevo getting pinged against the O's this season too, another very similar tackle! Shocked Also, the ref was on the side where the players feet were, so it probably looked even worse from that angle, had he been stood the other side (by the players head), then he may have let that one go?

I think Brads finally lost it after 64 minutes of blatant 'Munster Style' cheating, and cheap shots at the ruck with no warnings or penalties being issued to Ireland! There is only so many times a player will take it before lashing out! Ireland had their hands all over the rucks yesterday, pulling players back into the rucks, tugging shirts, and best of all, holding on to their ankles stopping players branching out to defend.............and then the cheap shot hits too!

He was a clown for doing it when he did, but I don't blame him for doing it............justice was served! Big smile

definitely a penalty, yellow debatable.
will the irish second row be cited for what he did previous to the bradley incident? didn't adam jones get injured by a south african from something similar?
I like it and I want it and I just don't need to stop it

D Ryan on Adam Jones. Deserves a 2 week suspension. It's identical to Bakkies Botha on adam jones.

I doubt he'll get a citing though it is a complete lottery.

As far as I can remember, I don't think they showed a single replay of this incident.

On first look it was a deliberate knock on with 2 men outside him. Yellow card, and you could argue for a penalty try.
