The Kick Off for the Sale Sharks v. Scarlets match in the LV= Cup next Saturday has been moved forward to 3.00 p.m.

With overnight temperatures in Stockport forecast to plummet to minus 7 degrees Celsius by Thursday, the club has arranged for the Edgeley Park pitch to be covered under warm air blowers from today, in order to ensure a soft surface for the players' safety.

Supporters are invited to watch the Scotland v. England game, which kicks off at 5 p.m., in the TNT Post Suite after the Scarlets match. In view of the cold weather expected in the North West for some days to come, there may be many club games postponed on Saturday, and this may be a chance for team groups to watch the Sharks game live.

The covers will be replaced after the game, in advance of the Aviva Premiership game against Worcester Warriors on Friday week.

Will the Scarlets still be running the supporters bus? And will it still be shown live on s4c?

Disappointing. This probably means we can't watch the game on tv now.

Sharks' Head of Media Dave Swanton explained, " Nigel Felton is bringing his hot air system to the ground today and the pitch will be covered until just before kick off time. Nigel advised that a late kick off may cause problems, in that the pitch could become unplayable as the temperatures fall. With the safety of the players in mind we highlighted this to the RFU who contacted the broadcasters and the kick off time change was agreed. The game will now be screened by S4C on delayed transmission."

Looks like it's a trip to Sunny Stockport this Saturday SmileSmile (glad It's pay day Friday)

S4C will still record the game live but it will be broadcast at the original 7.30pm slot.
Scarlets official supporters bus will still be running -we'll update pick up times etc as soon as we receive confirmation from the bus company.

It's not the same when it's not live.

I'll feel like I'm the only on who doesn't know the result. If it's a dire game or we lose heavily can someone let me know by 7pm on Saturday?

Thanks.

It also means we are now kicking off the same time as the other games, which is good imo.

Nice to see a club take action well in advance of the game day!

Had this e-mail through from the Sale Supporters Club secretary, so passing on as requested.

The kick-off for Saturday's game has been changed to 3pm. This is because of the weather forecast for Saturday show temperatures dropping dramatically in the hours before kick-off. We will be having the hot air covers on the pitch from today but with overnight temperatures of -7 to -8 for the next few days, coupled with a hardening pitch pre-match it was felt that it would put players at risk of unneccesary injury so the game has been brought forward.

If you could let your supporters know by whatever means I would be very grateful. We will still be showing the England v Scotland game in the TNT Post Suite after the game if you wish to stay and watch. The real ale bar will also be here.

Sorry for any trouble this may cause but I'm sure we'd prefer both our teams to be safe on the pitch.
