Stade Toulousain, Racing Club Paris, Castres, ASM, Biarritz and Montpellier.
If SF win the Amlin, do they get a place?

Yes they do. So do the Quins if they win. Should be a first class final!! Looking forward to this one far more than the H cup tbh

Can someone clarify this for me? If Leinster win the Heineken cup are Connacht in the Heineken cup next season?

missing one though, and I don't know who it is...

doesn't it get decided on which country does better out of the english and the french in the HEC so that means that they get the extra place and Exeter are in the HEC?????

The whole process of qualifying for the HEC is a farce as far as the ML teams are concerned. The two Scottish and the two Italian teams qualify even though a team like the Dragons who finish 7th in the league and higher than those 4 doesn't!! Something needsto be done IMO otherwise it will weaken the HEC as poorer teams will still be playing in it - it should be a cup competition for the best teams in Europe!!

but it is also a european competition, where teams need representing from the 6 nations. that is why we have the scottish and italian teams represented.

yes it would be fairer if we had straight qualification like the english and french, but as per the agreement for european rugby it probably stated that each team MUST have representation.

If they want to play European rugby put them in the Amlin. It devaluing the quality of teams in the HEC IMO!!

no we didn't.. we qualified because the Blues won the Amlin and were already in the HEC.

if Munster had got to the final and won then yes Connacht would be in the HEC

funny....Connacht think they will be....

Saturday the 21st of May sees Leinster take on the Northampton Saints in the Heineken Cup Final. Winning this cup would not only mean a great deal to Leinster Rugby but also to Connacht Rugby as, if Leinster succeed, Connacht will have a place in the 2012 Heineken Cup League - their first spot in the league since it began in 1995.

you've only got 23 (22 + quins or stade) teams there.

22 teams have qualified, leaving two places to be settled.  As I understand it the permutations are these:-
1. Quins win Amlin, Northampton win HEC - Quins and Perpignan  into HEC
2. Quins win Amlin, Leinster win HEC        -  Quins and Connacht into HEC
3. Stade win Amlin, Northampton win HEC - Stade and Wasps into HEC
4. Stade win Amlin, Leinster win HEC        -  Stade and Connacht into HEC

3 needs checking - not sure if Wasps are still ahead of Quins in the latest rankings.
