For goodness sake !!! Compare like for like !! 1. This is last year's kit, so will be heavily discounted. 2. It's the kit of a national side of a country with a population of 67 million. Llanelli's population is 56-60K. The Scarlets have approximately 4k season ticket holders. Last season the average home gate was 9-10k 3. Adidas is a French company producing a kit for the national side of, yes, you've guessed it FRANCE. 4. The nature of the agreement between FRF and Adidas may dictate the price, e.g. Footjoy retailers have to charge a minimum price for their golf polo shirts, currently 50 quid my local pro tells me. 5.The full price of this shirt was 65 quid during the 17/18 season.

Apologies, you are correct on that, Thanks for pointing it out. However I feel that the other points remain valid. Edited by ap sior - 20 December 2018 at 3:08pm |

adidas will never be with Scarlets until we become major jersey sellers...which is unlikely. We are not even selling more jerseys than Ospreys.
Fact of the matter is, Adidas will only go for proven sellers. Deal with NZ rugby and all the franchises...the best selling shirt in the world. The only way we will stand any chance of adidas is if WRU strike a deal for the national side plus all regions. That will be the only way Adidas will be remotely interested. |

Adidas do actually spread the love, but I agree they generally go for the big players ( Real Madrid, Man U, All Blacks, Lions etc).
At the risk of endorsing Speedy's long held 'Adidas rules' view, I have to admit that the presentation by the club of its apparel range, and the quality and sustainability of that offer, by Harlequins RFC is a lesson in good marketing at great prices, whilst pushing the ethical footprint agenda too. Youth Hoodies from 100% recycled polyester, climate fabric, and nice design at 35 quid is great value. Anyway, all a dream, we are locked in with Macron until 2020/21 I think it is. |

The problem I find in having a big chest (ahem) is that when the 'chest' is big enough, the arms are far too long. Manufacturers must think Wales is populated by hairless gorillas!

There is no risk involved. Best quality at more or less same prices is extreme value for money. https://www.exclusivehockey.co.uk/collections/hockey-wales-replica-kit Its not just big hitters that they work with. I wish people would stop peddling this myth.

Duw duw! If you think Adidas make Melrose RFC jerseys and pay them etc then you really need to look at how easy it is for any club to have an Adidas jersey. Buy an already designed kit, embroil the kit with your club badge and sponsors and it’s done. Seeing that they have many go fund me pages, it’s more than probable that a kit has been donated to them by a local business similar to Pictons. You can’t possibly think Adidas went in with a financial deal??? Scarlets are pro outfit that would require Adidas pay us! You do realise that ye? It’s Not the other way round! Why do you think so little PRO clubs have Adidas? They go for the big sellers. That’s fact. Look at the PRO sides Adidas have in both rugby and football. The most popular teams. The sellers. Your love for Adidas must be blinding you to the facts. I played 5 a side football...we had Adidas kits and Nike kits! |

Couldnt give two poos. Sick of stumbling from 1 crappy supplier to the next, getting bogged down to crappy long deals, and accepting the dregs of the game. No, we are not a pro team in any of our actions when it comes to kit sponsorship. We are light years behind. When we tour the land, following our team, our club sees fit to have us looking like tacky, ill fittingly dressed, pound shop. It kills me. year after year, deal after deal people on this board swallow it up willingly. accepting failure as the norm. even after our recent success we still dont think highly enough of ourselves to warrant a prestigious brand to display our prestigious club. #[beep]Macron

The team I play for has Macron, we have the very same tracksuit top for £25.
There is a reason other clubs sell more than us and it isn’t just location/size of the fanbase. Adidas and nike also make jerseys for clubs and other sports teams much smaller than us so it is possible, its by no means the big clubs only. |

There’s a difference between wearing a branded kit and being signed up by one.
Adidas have contracted Leinster, Brive, Harlequins and Munster In Europe the last time I looked, might have changed. You can get a custom made Adidas kit off the peg. From multiple sources. Different gravy that. We are a club knocking on the door of the next level of sponsorship across a whole range things, but it’s a hard door to open, given our potential merchandise sale levels , even harder. We would need to counter that with being successful on the pitch, and be able to sustain that. Edited by Wil Chips - 21 December 2018 at 7:49am |
