Sheridan on track after fracture

Sheridan started the games against New Zealand Maori and Manawatu
Sale prop Andrew Sheridan has declared he will be fit for the start of the new season despite learning he was playing with a fractured fibula for the Lions.

The 25-year-old was originally told he had ruptured ankle ligaments in April but still played in five games on tour.

"We trained on the Sunday after the second Test and I thought 'something is not right here'," he told BBC Sport.

"They scanned higher up the leg and then they found the problem. It is a healing fracture, it just needed rest."
