And a shame for John missing out on the 6 Nations at his stage in his career. That French pack was huge mind!

The only 'good' thing about this - from a Scarlets PoV (not John's) is that he would not have been available for us for a few weeks in any case. Let's hope he recovers quickly and gets more 6N game time (for his sake), but also that he's fit and firing for the next Scarlets game he could play in.

Here's wishing John a full, more important than speedy, recovery.

So we pick up the pieces.......

Wishing John a speedy recovery and I hope the post yesterday on here about the shoulder part of his injury being a recurrence of a previous injury is not right. Recurring injuries can be so much more difficult. Also the coaches comment about him playing with a broken body is somewhat alarming.

Best of luck to Barclay hopefully it's only precautionary and he's back for the Wales game. Has been brilliant for both club and country.

Such a shame about the injuries especially as he took over as captain when Laidlaw went off.
