hi all,
had a good day in napia. locals great. bought us a few beers as soon as they saw my llanelli t-shirt.
(don't know if you've heard back home but) stories in local papers that henson had to be persuaded not to go home after he wasn't picked for the first test and found out he wasn't automatic pick for the second test. alistair cambell vetting all news paper columns and changed geordan murphy's comment of "the boys went out for a few beers" to "the boys went out for a stroll" and if anybody writes the "all blacks" in their columns he changes it to "new zealand" to try to lessen the mystique of the all blacks.   phil larder and the irish coach (can't rember his name - too many steinlagers today) had a big bust up after the first test. (i met phil larder before the first test - suprised how tall he was).
went to talk by stu wilson. said he'd been talking to a few ex-all blacks and they all thought that umaga should have been baned after the spear tackles on o'driscoll and lewsey.

plum couldn't get a ticket for the 2nd test for less than $250 (100 quid) and i was offered a ticket for the 3rd test for $100 so i thought i'd get it for him and i asked if he wanted it and he asked if it included hospitality. cheeky bstd !! :-) bl00dy students !! :-).

lots more to tell but i need a waz !!

Sounds like your having a whale of a time TT have a beer for me. When you said that they bought you a few beers when they saw your Llanelli shirt, that`ll sort a few arguements out on wether to drop the Llanelli name from the region ------------------------- G`day sport i see you support that famous side from wales -------------------- but on the other hand, they could say who are the Scarlets. Get my point.

there's a steinlager advert over here about 'attitude' and it mentions red conway.
for those of you that don't know who he is, he was picked for the 1959 (?) all black tour to the uk but dislocated his finger and was told that because of the dislocation he couldn't travel because of the time needed for it to heal.
so what do you think he did in order that he could play for the all blacks ?
he cut his finger off !!!
because the amputation would take less time to heal than the dislocation. unbelievable !!!

just had breakfast with john o'drscoll ('80 and '83 lions tours) really nice bloke. said he is really friendly with grav. and sends him an xmas card every year and puts "Wales, England" on the envelope just to wind him up :-).
he said willie duggan ('77 lion) is on board as well but they call him the count because you never see him in the daylight :-)
travelling up to auckland now and the sea is really rough and the ship is really swinging and swaying. just walked down the stairs and you have to avoid the spu on the steps from people being sea-sick!! lovely !! :-)

Hello Tondu!

Loving your stories about the trip. On your return, I think we should all have a get together night out where you can tell us all about your adventure!

I thought I saw Dilwyn on TV. After Carter's first try he is walking back to the conversion spot and Dilwyn is in one of the front three rows I think!

I spoke to Plum on Saturday and he is alive and well :-)
