just docked in auckland. the ship pulled up along side the team hotel (hilton) and simon came out onto his balcony and saw all the fans and shook his head and went back inside and closed the curtains - what a miserable bstd !!.
then alistair cambell came out and everyone booed so he went back in - brilliant !!
had beakfast again with john o'driscoll but still no willie duggan as he didn't get to bed 'til 10a.m. !!!!!!
SQ texed me so meeting him for a beer.
don't know if i'll come across any tinternet cafes in auck. so this may be my last report !!

if the name dropping is bothering you boys then don't read it !!

hi all,
first time i've been able to get on to tinternet in hotel.
went to martin johnson's testimonial dinner - great night. colin meads did a question and answer session, eric rush did a great talk, peter wheeler just told steryotypical racist jokes about the welsh, irish and scotts !! - unbelievable !!. martin bayfield was m.c. and he was excellent. told a great joke about robert jones being superstitious and saying that they were goin to loose a test match because he'd seen a dead ghost but when all the boys laughed at him he said on second thoughts maybe it was a handkerchief because why would a ghost have it's initials embroided on itself. :-). then jonno had a question and answer session (for which people could write down their questions) and martin bayfield said that by far the most popular question was - why is austin healy such a to$$er ?.
had a beer with jerry collins 2 nights ago (who likes the slot machines) and asked him not to beat us by too much on saturday (don't think we'll lose by too much - less than 20 points because leon macdonald is out and been replaced by luke mcalister, but tommo also out replaced by byrne, bulloch on bench)
had a drink with SQ, said that jason leonard has put on so much weight that they call him pluto because he's the size of a planet !! and when he takes off his clothes objects start orbiting around him !! :-).
went down the team hotel yesterday and had a coffee with gj. said that we're still trying to sign a tighthead. been a dissapointing tour but the midweek side has done well but he's really enjoyed working with geech and lernt lots of new things and can't wait to start the new season. he said that afeaki is loooking the business.
went with some wasp friends to a wasp get together last night with warren gatland (really nice bloke) and was told that geech had a contract ready for shane byrne to sign but the wasp boys (daws, shaw, josh) said that he's been a dikhed on tour and hasn't bought a round since cardiff so geech ripped up the contract and he's gone to sarries. they also said that trev had his contract terminated because he failed his third warning about drinking.
the gullivers team played ponsonby (who have the record for supplying the most (50) players to the all blacks, such as bryan williams, andy haden, tuigamala, carlos spencer, ali williams etc. etc.) and jonny bryant played for them but we still got stuffed by 50 points and that was there 4th team !!!!.
off to the match now and off to rotarua all day tmrw so try to get back on tinternet on monday.
just one last thing - watched a charity boxing match with byron hayward, frano, rush etc. etc. and mark jones (ex neath thug) was knocked down straight from the bell and was the only boxer in 8 fights to be put on his ar$e - delighted !! :-)

reading the above has really cheered me up after another dissapointing display by the lions. i can't wait to hear all the stories when you get home!

The stadium may change, but the dream will remain the same!

Awesome stuff TT looks like you've had a pretty good time despite the performances by the Lions.

Have a safe journey home.
