There was a back row player called Ioan Davies in the U16's a season or two ago. He was from Aberdare way. It may be him.

It is. Good player who was involved in 6Ns and played versus Japan in U19s games. Former Cymoedd captain

A former pupil of mine who went to Rhydywaun, and got capped with Garyn Phillips.

Another fab kid with a huge future ahead of him. Know both bois and their families. Top people.

Ioan was unlucky not to get picked from the start imo, with some suggesting a little West Wales bias in the squad selection

The Fijian boys look so much bigger and physically stronger than ours and so dangerous with ball in hand but poor tacklers for their size

Good win for Wales in the end.  If only Fiji could defend and scrummage as well as they attack going forward they would be great but that’s like the senior side as well πŸ˜‰

What was the final score ? Saw start of second half and Fiji's second try after their yellow card, but got called away then.

Good win all in all, seemed to follow the senior team when we play Fiji!

Next up, a match against New Zealand in the 5th placed semi final, where the winners will play the winner of England v Ireland.

Main semi final line up is Argentina v Australia & South Africa v France.
