We have seven front players injured and rest Five Internationals who are fit for a huge must win game, win second half 17-3 huge gamble which back fired massively . What was so sad was to a team in that 1st half especially who were so poorly prepared in every facet of the game . |

Definitely a wrong selection for this game! Should have gone fully loaded, with no game next week.

What if we have looked at the last 3 games and thought you know what rest players for next 2 weeks and go all guns blazing for the final 3 rather than push all our welsh boys in and ending up with injuries to 5 or 6 welsh boys who have taken a battering in the last 3 weeks

THAT MUST BE THE 7TH OR 8TH TIME THIS SEASON THAT SCARLETS HAVE CONCEDED 30 POINTS OR MORE, DEFENCE NON EXISTENT. GET HOLD OF SHAUN EDWARDS ON A SHORT CONSULTANCY BASIS.
WHATEVER WE ARE TRYING TO DO AT PRESENT ITS NOW WORKING.YOU CANT EXPECT TO BE TOP 3 CONCEDING TRIES LIKE WE HAVE THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. |

Can’t pin that on selection. For the starting 15 to be 38-0 down at half time is the story. Clearly pathetic and unprofessional preparation for this match.

total lack of respect for the fans, stevo and pivac are a busted flush and god help wales if that first half is the best our defence coach can manage we did not look like we cared or wanted to win.

Very disappointing season over and only won one away game against the Kings.
Pivac should have taken a season off. |

Injuries aside, I do blame the coaching team/Pivac this season.
I blame them for picking a centre at 10 when we had a perfectly good one to use, for not using our secret weapon in Steff and blaming it on his defence, for questionable substitutions and for last night not thinking Cardiff were going to be right up for that game. Starting patch was a mistake and so was leaving Steff and the forwards out. Hardy is great so Gar could have benched. Ioan is great too but Steff showed his attack when he came on. Pants - interesting to hear last night Fox is looking forward to playing under Moarr and you never know perhaps that’s what Steff’s dads comments related to, a new era under a new coach. I think Ioan has been decent enough for us but is by no means a top quality wing. Was exposed for pace a few tomes last night and the difference between the blues wings pace was obvious. We must get some wingers with genuine pace who hit the line. Too many players in the first half who weren’t match ready, having not played, Samson, cubby, Marc Jones, wyn Jones, Cummings, patch, list can go on. It was noticeable the difference when changes were made. Should have started with the team that ended and made changes as we knew the blues woulld be up for it in front of a sell out crowd. Naive in selection in my opinion.

there was nothing wrong with the selection. that team was more than good enough to win.
battered and fatigued bodies are prone to injuries...see Navidi and Rob Evs. Theyve barely trained with us for nearly 2 months. they made an impact yes. huge impact. but to start them, cant say it would have made a difference. They came on the pitch after seeing humiliation and probably a damn good grilling in the changing room. would they have had the same impact if they started, we will never know, but easy to say yes and blame the loss on selection. It was not lost there, we simply didnt turn up until half time. we were shambolic. Hardy had a very tough time of it, Patch had a very tough time of it, as did a number of the pack. Asquith could not handle halaholo at all. we were out muscled by the blues (again). the only weapon we had through the game was the scrum. even before rob and ken came on we had a dominant scrum. Steff looked dangerous, but it is evident that he has defensive issues and selecting him to start last night would not have stopped the tries scored for the blues. line outs...did we challenge once on their ball? We have become immensly predictable at line outs. we are the easiest team to have a line out against probably. |

Unusually, I find your comments on this somewhat contradictory. If that team was more than good enough to win how come we were smashed before half time and looked like rabbits dazzled in headlights? Don't think I've seen the dragons thrashed to that extent. Our back line looked slow and amateur compared to the Blues backs. Wyn Jones seemed to be struggling, marc Jones not up to it. The back row had no go forward. Josh did not have his best game, cubby didn't learn from being repeatedly pinged by Lacey. Cassiem is not the physical 8 we need. I think the selection made a huge difference to the outcome as the 2nd half showed.

team selected on paper was good enough to win IMO. they just failed to turn up. too many off games by players we needed to front up. we weren't there physically or mentally for whatever reason.

When you consider the games our main competitors have coming up, I suspect that Pivac accepted that we might lose last night, but would have a fully rested group for the final three and potentially play off games?
Interesting to see that all the internationals from England are playing today along with Sanjay, and the Sprays and Dragons have picked their Ints as well.
