I think if Foxy has any sense..and I'm sure he has, as he comes across as a well intelligent articulate guy..he'll stay. Stay and assume a rightful position in the Pantheon of Scarlet greats..an icon of the club and also know that as he nears the end of his playing days he'll be well looked after and treated or risk having the sh1ts flogged out of him elsewhere and leave a degree of nagging doubt amongts fans who hitherto will and would have worshiped him Now he has future of a career in media ahead of him as he has the full skill set so money after his playing days is not going to be an issue. He has the opportunity and possibility of along career as pundit/presenter as he is articulate, comes across well and looks good when on TV. Stay in the bubble of the Welsh game mate...this time it could work extremely well for you.

I imagine some of the players who'll be over 30 after the world cup will retire from international rugby and look for a payday - especially the backs.

I agree it would be a very surprising move, but a very rewarding one for a guy who is 31 next month, and as he has 60+ caps he wouldn’t jeopardise his Wales place.

If it’s true then it’s quite sad. He’s probably the best centre in the northern hemisphere on his day and he’s come through the Scarlets academy system. Tom Price has shown glimpses of what he can do and has scored some crucial tries during his time with us, but he hasn’t been able to hold down a regular match day squad position. I don’t blame him if he wants to return to England, and if any team in England can get the best out of a second row from the Scarlets then it’s Exeter. They got quite a bit out of Damien Welch. |

Good point, he’s also not tied to Wales.

It just goes to show the gulf in funding between us and the Gallagher Premiership sides when the can quote a player of Foxy’s calibre as cover for someone who might leave the club, but may not. We can’t compete with them based on the funding we receive from the WRU. With a possible wage cap system in place in Wales, the regions may once again become a breading ground for the English and French leagues.

The WRU should scrap the 60 cap rule while there are 4 regions active and operate a strict play in Wales to play for Wales.

Does it say Foxy is talking to Tigers? I thought it just said Tigers are considering a move for him. If the last Lions man of the series is allowed to leave Welsh domestic rugby with a year left on his contract, then I'm afraid serious questions need to be asked about what the ambitions of Welsh rugby actually are. I'm going to wager Foxy will be a Scarlets player come September. |

Fair play the latest statement from Rob Davies is a great example of how generate more questions than answer them. "The Ospreys are adequately funded for the foreseeable future and will continue to seek a more equitable distribution model which, at the moment, is weighted towards subjective criteria capable of improper manipulation, rather than an objective formula based on impartially quantifiable metrics and success." You'd guess Ospreys supporters will not be asking a few questions like: Adequately funded for what? a 5th placed finish and season in the Challenge Cup like last season? Looking to win the league? Looking to win the Champions Cup? Foreseeable future? This season? Next? 5 years? 10 years? Does the equitable funding model mean less for the Ospreys or more? If you look at the distribution of NDC's previously you'd imagine a more objective formula would have seen them worse off as I can't imagine many people agreeing that NDC's for Lydiate, Bradley Davies, James King, Baker and Thornton were good calls. Or is he talking about something else? Who knows. I'm really unsure what the Ospreys intentions are, the statements seem to jump from looking backwards to looking forwards and it's not clear whether they want to work things out behind closed doors or as publicly as possible.

If everything is honky-dory in Ospreilia, why would they try to "merge" with their worst enemy?

I really do think that they should now STFU, stop the press release, and get back into the negotiations to try and resolve matters for ALL the Welsh Regions. When stories get around that you're in financial difficulties then the vultures will inevitably begin to circle. However, in this case he can answer those by settling the bills !

I've read this sentence several times and still don't have a clue what it means. Do I need a degree in business speak to understand?
