Watched a very enjoyable game yesterday. Amazingly Ireland were undone by a team who played the aerial game better than they did. Is there a better player in World Rugby under the high ball in either attack or defence than Folau? He is just awesome.

Another interesting fact is the size of James Ryan. His stats pre game put him at 108 kgs which is pretty lightweight for a 2nd row. I noticed he was much slighter than Henderson when they lined up for the anthem next to each other so the stat could well be correct. My word he packs some power into that frame and has a massive engine on him. Come the next Lions tour he is going to be one serious player.

Didn't see it... could the Irish have won with Sexton at the helm? He does make a difference...

Beirne looks like he's put on a bit of weight since leaving the Scarlets. Wink

Great news for him and let’s hope that he has a great game if he gets on the field. I hope that he isn’t made to gain a few pounds or kilograms as this will undoubtedly effect his mobility and speed around the park. He’s such a great player because of his size and shape, which suits him and certainly suited the kind of game we wanted him to play.

Indeed - well deserved. Hope he has a good game, and leaves Folau on his bum with one of those sidesteps!

Beirne is 28/1 to score the last try of the match. Definitely worth a punt.

Great to see Tadhg get his first cap, about 17 mins worth, in the win.

Did he get a start in PRO12 or Europe when at Leinster, or has he just got his first cap before starting a match for an Irish Province?

I'm far from certain, but had the impression that he'd had a few games for Leinster, maybe all or mostly off the bench - could be wrong though.

According to Wikipedia, he only made 4 appearances for Leinster, one of them against us, but all came from the bench, so it does look like he’s made his international debut before starting a competitive match for an Irish provincial side.

Thanks Legend.

Wow, that’s quite a feat and unlikely to be repeated while their current eligibility criteria remain in place.

More irrefutable evidence showing Tadhg is that special kind of player.

Good spot - think I didn't notice the word 'start' in Legend's original post!Embarrassed
