I'm guessing Pontys playing budget dwarfs Llanelli's.

The thing is where does Pool go when they win the league again? Hopefully a strong RFC performance anyway. The sun is still shining as the bus with new coach operator Gywnne Price , the local company from Trimsaran whisks us down the motorway!

It was a very feisty game especially in first half with a "Typical " crowd of one eyed Poolers who hammered the ref! Scoring 5 tries to win was very satisfying. Great welcome off the field mind once the whistle stopped,  including a long chat with the great old prop Graham Price as club President.  Young RFC side  did well with solid set piece and some real penetrative in the back line. Nice to gain revenge from last year's loss in the cup. A very good warm up!

Wil, some of the Pooler supporters  were a really unhappy bunch at the end but the very young RFC players won't have experienced that sort of hard edged sledging in a " Blind Bart" mentality fashion so will have learned from it! Even valley boys like Jack Condy looked around from the bench at some of the sledging! Some of it was funny in a way like those old guys in the Muppitts! However, it was relentless and also sort of gets the bois out of the comfort zone down Y Parc. I guess the phrase is "it's good for them" ?
They really won't a nasty bunch just full of "attitude " and we won!

They don't offer anything ito the Championship. Officially pay players in a 3rd tier league thats not designed for that at all. To then add that's promotion is locked out for another couple of years then it's beyond any logic I can see.

They are the new Pobtypridd, thrashing about in a pool they are not fit for, pining to swim with the big fish, but they missed out and have no one but themselves to blame for that.

They seemed adamant yesterday that when the league opens up in PDC they would be up for it. Assumes the owner is still there as he underwrites it all. Little other commercial business in Ponty to fund them and Pontypool looked a really economically depressed place yesterday - almost as bad as Llanelli town centre!!Cry
