Thats a really strong Saints team… should be good experience for our lads, just hope it doesn't end up being a cricket score!

Looks like a hard evening in store, around 10-12 first team squad involved with Saints.

I really feel that the competition should either be scrapped or changed with all players who have played x games or less eligible, this match does nothing for the competition, TV, Scarlets players.

Admittedly I am being negative, but let us be realistic.

Just look at the front row,Gardiner took so much stick last week, he is now playing against a regular squad team player, a hooker who kept Hartley out of the game he eventually got sent off in, and Brookes who was in the England squad last year.

Pob lwc bois bach
Be careful when you pick up the stick.........IT MAY BE THE WRONG END!!!!!!!!!!

Agree looks like a tough ask against a pretty strong Northampton side , perhaps there should be some restriction on first team/squad players being used , on the other hand we are giving loads of young players a chance , what are Northampton going to learn about players already well known to them?

Good luck to the guys up against some very experienced opposition (comparatively and absolutely). Saints obviously keen to get a win at home, for obvious reasons.

Here's hoping there's a liberal dose of complacency in the home ranks.

I agree with all of the above except that setting a limit of number of games played might be difficult. Gardiner actually started alot of games for us but playing him is not against any "spirit of the competition" as he is effectively starting out again after a ?4? year break.

Its good to see Billy Mac get a start- lets see if he can be the number three fly half.  And also good to see Daf Hughes get a start. I heard he had a shoulder problem which wasn't clearing up and might need surgery. Seemingly it hasn't.   .

Strong looking side, guess you are hoping Tigers turn Sarries over then? Our kids will need to learn fast.

It's up to the clubs to select who they want.

Huge mismatch. Scarlets doing the right thing in my opinion but won't make great watching TBH.

Agree with what many have said about the format. Seems some teams are treating it differentley to others.Teams should only be allowed to select a certain amount of players over the age of 23/24. Looking at the positives its another chance for some up and coming talent to prove themselves, a lot of the team wont have played on tv berfore. Lets hope we ll have a better lineout this week. Its been shocking in this tournament so far.

Oh dear. I fear this will be an absolute pasting.

Not what's needed for player development at all.
