I'd have a slug with a limp before Cuthbert at the moment really struggle with his selection in the team

Alex Cuthbert has indeed been woeful. I feel sorry for the lad re his loss of form but he is a very lucky lad to keep on the world stage.Lets hope he rises to the big ocassion and gets back to the form he showed a long time ago now and starting on Saturday!

Not so surprised at Anscome but truly stunned at Cuthbert's inclusion. Badly out of form. I'm not convinced by North at centre either. I would have gone with Morgan at centre and dropped Cuthbert. Would have put Ken ahead of Baldwin too. Otherwise looks a decent team.

Ah well, fingers crossed for Saturday

Becoming a bit confused by Gats selections. Does he want us to finish 2nd in pool a?
Cuthbert earn't 3/10 against the Saes and the front row hardly earn't their pay.

He may as well pick my missus and her sister on the wings for all the ball they're going to get from that midfield.

But hes changed both props? and brought in our 2 best scrummagers? Though admittedly im surprised he isn't starting ken. Hes also bolstered the pack starting charteris. As for Cuthbert clearly hes struggling and trying to hard, but Im not jumping on the Cuthbert bashing bandwagon...Whats that going to achieve? The man needs support and confidence, a few tries will re-ignite him. Hes one of our only 2 specialist wingers for starters so we haven't got much choice and secondly , the man has scored a lot of crucial tries and one doesn't become a bad finisher overnight. Keep the faithThumbs Up

Gatland does tend to stick with certain players regardless of their form. Remember him constantly picking Priestland a few seasons ago when Rhys's form was very poor despite constant calls for him to be dropped.

I think he's the Aussie's Hook - can be brilliant, but unpredictable. Probably won't play to team orders. Certainly a bit of a hit and miss goal kicker.

Personally, I'm glad he won't be playing! He's torn Wales to shreds in the past.

Well - everyone except 1/2p, Foxy, Scott, Webb, Amos and Allen... four of whom would have been first choices for Wales, or maybe even 5 given Cuthbert's woeful form...

I'd put Sanjay in his best position and I'd even have Nipper before Cuthbert, but it's fairly obvious that Gatland is going for battering rams and even though he doesn't play like one he's physically big enough.

I agree with your points - but Gatland has a reason for resting Gethin, saying that he tends to break down if he plays too many games in quick succession, which has been true in recent seasons - so that makes sense.

Personally, I'd have kept Tyler at 13, Sanjay on the wing and Nipper at 15 - but Gats is going for size and power to unsettle the Aussies - who knows, it may even work. I'm not too optimistic - we're missing too many first choice players - but, hey - it's not over till it's over.

This is a point I've often made with respect to Scarlets players who are having a poor run - there is always a risk that they read the forum, or that friends or family may mention unfavourable comments (maybe that should be 'friends').

I doubt very much that this applies to Cuthbert, so I'm not worried that criticism here will affect his play - but it's true that he has done well in the past. Let's hope he gets a simple run-in early doors, and that he starts to believe that he can still do it...

Target them both with Roberts and North on the crash solidly in the first 20, and they'll be off before you know it Star

This article is worth reading. The Sydney Morning Herald's view on Wales, a lot of respect towards Cawdor.
