The Italian rugby federation (FIR) will become full shareholders in Celtic Rugby this season.
Conor O'Shea has been instrumental in driving up standards in Italian rugby - we've seen Benetton take a step up in competitiveness this season, Zebre have won 2 games already - and, together with FIR president, Alfredo Gavazzi, this move comes with commitments for investment & improved facilities for the Italian clubs. It ensures their involvement in PRO14 until at least 2023. |

O Shea is saving italian rugby with his credibility. FIR will be a shareholders but what does it mean it s not clear. Of course Im happy with this so I can Follow Scarlets easily for one, or better, two times for year...

I interviewed Dean Budd a few weeks back for my website before we played them.
He had so much praise for Kieran Crowley for what he's done with Benetton over the past few seasons. Budd said he believes an Italian club can win the league before long and that Italy have some of the best young players coming through that he's ever seen. Exciting time for Italian rugby and will only make the 6 Nations stronger! |

How does a body get to be shareholders of Celtic rugby? Do they have to pay for it? Are PRW shareholders?
With these private companies valuing leagues at hundreds of millions of pounds it would be interesting to see who would stand to get the windfall should the leagues be bought out. |
