Yeah, well - no point playing Connacht in front of three men at a dog at the CCS, was there?

I hope they get the 8,000 maximum crowd.
Cardiff were a great club. The move to the football ground and their "Blues" brand distancing themselves from their history has been a disaster. It is genuinely sad to see what they have become.

they had a far better balance at the arms park
1) its a lovely ground nice and compact, capacity is about 13,000 which is fine for league games
2) its central
3) IF they have a huge heineken match they used to play them next door and double their crowds (26000 for toulouse , 17,000 for leinster league game, 45000+ for leicester at millennium stadium)
4) So why do they need leckwith? do they sell more hospitality there than they did at arms park?
thats about the only advantage I can think of, unless the rent was cheaper too?

But do they get the income for any hospitality at CCS ?
If not it wasn't worth the move in my view !

I think they expected bigger crowds...the move came in a massive recession, also cardiffs form and style of play suffered when nicky robinson left and they brought in an aussie full back to play fly half and dan kickaholic parks...shame they lost that variety as their team is almost good enough to compete for the heineken...they just need a 10 a 6 and a back up lock

Their fans can show their thanks by turning up and showing the bosses the difference it makes having a game with abit of atmosphere. I know a few Blue fans who were regulars that just dont bother going to the CCS because its inconvienient and there's no atmosphere.
Genuinely hope its a success for them.

I read somewhere the Blues are tied into playing at the lego stadium for 20 years. Seems like it's all change.

8,000 there and it will be bouncing. They may also get a few early arrival Scottish fans in as well. |
