Sometimes, the people that are actually vocal to others should indeed take a step back and take a look at themselves, two wrongs don't make a right, and in showing your disgust or sh-sh ing, you are infact being as bad as the culprit in question!
In Golf, you are asked to be quiet by the officials, in rugby, you are not, and there is no ruling that specifies you must be quiet when kickers are taking their kicks, it is assumed that people should be quiet as a matter of respect, but it is merely a suggestion, and not a rule. As the respect differs from team to team, game to game, there appears to be no set boundaries, or guidelines, so there is no way it can be policed, and individuals don't have the authority to police it either!

I think the problem we have with what happened is not the booing itself (it happens pretty much everywhere else) as with the hypocrisy - the Irish have for some time adopted a 'holier than thou' attitude, where they pretend that they are super fair-play. (This never applies to what really happens on the field, of course!) Unfortunately for them they simply couldn't take losing a tight game they expected to win, and their pretence broke down.
It was noticeable that the Irish booed 1/2p's attempted conversion of what no-one could pretend was anything other than a legitimate try, by North, 5min before the end. The final penalty was correctly awarded (as was the card, if you slo-mo the replay and see what Ferris tried to do), so booing that was also out of order (though TBH I'd probably have done it if the roles had been reversed - you don't have replays at the ground, usually). If the Irish are honest with themselves, they'll realise that Wales should have won by more (there was nothing wrong with Ryan's try, and if the ref had asked a different question it would have been awarded). Rhys P let them off another 3 points. Just suck it up, Irish! Edited by aber-fan - 07 February 2012 at 3:01pm |

WTF are you on about?
Name me the Irish fans who complained about the result. As for the tip tackle, Evans had 1 leg touching the ground all along....
As for the Welsh players reaction to the penalty, well, they should go to Wembley.

I agree with you regarding the tackle, at least Evans could support himself as he went down. The other guy was thrown onto his head basically.

So Al08 you ignore the whole point of the thread (Irish hypocrisy) to pick up on a different point. Let's face it you're bang to rights on this one and you don't have the balls to admit it.
