Apparently being released by the Blues at the end of the season as part of a 'big clear out'.

Any takers - would either of them add anything to the regional side? Considering that the Blues also released Rhys Gill who, inexplicably, is on the bench for the Wales squad, it'll be safe to assume that players with a bit of talent will be shifted on.

RST has been overtaken by Warburton for both the Blues and Wales - surely he's a talent though? Not really watched him that much.

No thanks we have better players on the way,
In 1972, Roy Bergiers scored that try and said "that was for you lofty"

Unofficial member of the Dublin Welsh choir, second from the left backrow.

RST would be worth a contract if we could lose one or both of our 7s.

Not much point in DF. That would just be a waste of £40-50,000, when we have Newton in the squad who looks a neat and tidy player coming through.

Both are very mediocre at best, would add nothing to our squad and furthermore would weaken it, as they would be drawing a salary, leave well alone.

RST would be a good signing IMO. Not long ago he was seen as Martin Williams' replacement! He is out of favour with the blues as the moment and lacks game time at the top level but I think he is worth a shout! Give him a two year contract at the right price and let him prove himself.

Pugh and Edwards have contracts to the end of next season. It would only make sense if one/both were leaving.

Don't think RST is any better than Pugh and Edwards. He'll end up at the Dragons.

He's not fantastic, but he's better than Pugh and Edwards.

They're releasing him to save costs because they have Martyn and Warburton.

The way Rob Gog and Josh are coming along I would rather see a backrow of Rob/Josh (6) daf (7) and Dai Llew (8) than anything with RST. Has been marginally better than JE maybe, but no more, and certainly not worth spending money on.

We need quality and he isn't it.

As for Flannigan, we have better bois already.
No more, please!

no he isn't he is massively over rated if we are going to make a big name signing lets get in a top international southern hemisphere 7 or sign a player such as ben lewis from the ospreys.
I still wake up late at night and think of what might have been when tim stimpson hit that jammy penalty1

I disagree, Mike. Martyn's clock is ticking and, if the Blues rated RST, they'd be keen to keep him alongside the likes of Warburton and Powell. This is especially the case when you consider Rush is off to Ulster and Molitika can't have that long left at the Blues.
That said, maybe RST has asked to leave because of limited game time.
I don't think RST would offer anything in addition to Pugh and Edwards.
